About

Born and raised in Chester County, PA, Denny Howell grew up spending his summers at his grandparent’s cottage on the Chesapeake Bay. For years he sat out on the porch with his cousin and watched the water as boats passed by.  From a young age, he had a passion for the sea and as a teenager, he ran boats on the Chesapeake. He and his cousin vowed they would be out on the water heading to the fishing grounds one day.

Denny attended Drexel University and graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering. Following graduation, he worked in the civil engineering and real estate development industry for a few years before ultimately starting his own civil engineering firm.  A few years later, true to his word, he purchased his first boat, a 33 Egg Harbor. He spent a lot of time out on the water fishing the Chesapeake and just a few years later, he purchased his second boat an Ocean Yacht.  He began running his boat south to the Carolinas and fishing in the White Marlin Open. In the years in between he found his passion for custom sportfishing boats and purchased a 48 Graves, the Big Dog.   Built in Hilton Head, she is a one-of-a-kind triple plank mahogany beauty.  Fully restored and repowered at Bayliss Boatworks, she now fishes many of the major tournaments earning a 2nd place tuna in the Mid Atlantic.

In 2021 with years of success in the industry and ready for his next adventure, Chris, along with his partner and friend Denny Howell, opened DH Yacht Sales. Driven by knowledge and experience, he fulfilled his life-long dream of opening his very own yacht brokerage. In between selling some of the best boats built, Chris still finds time to get away and fish tournaments such as the White Marlin Open, Mid-Atlantic, Custom Shootout, White Marlin Round Up, and the Bermuda Series.
